Challenge

A fragrance brand exhibiting at two of the UK's largest beauty and lifestyle trade shows. A stand at that scale is a serious fixed cost, and the content that comes back from it is usually a handful of phone photos and a couple of grainy clips.

The brief was to leave with enough material to carry the brand's channels for months, not just to document the day.

Approach

Spring Fair at the NEC came first: two days covering the stand and the VIP evening function, delivering two highlights films, three short-form reels and full photography. That led to a return booking for the second show at ExCeL London, with a wider brief.

Second time, the remit went past coverage into production. A full stand tour, twenty-five filmed interviews with visitors reacting to the products in their own words, and an influencer shoot built around the brand's individual fragrance lines. Everything was shot knowing it would be cut more than one way, including dedicated vertical versions, so a single day of filming feeds social, the website and the sales team rather than one channel.

Photography ran in parallel rather than as an afterthought. 284 frames across the stand, the products and the VIP guests, edited down to 78 finished images and split by where they were going: product shots clean enough for retail and ecommerce, people and atmosphere for social, VIP coverage for press.

Result

Two events, one return booking, and a content library with a far longer life than the show itself. The visitor interviews in particular gave the brand something it cannot buy or brief: real customers describing the products unprompted, cut into supercuts and standalone clips.

Because the shooting was planned around the edit rather than the other way round, the same footage produced long-form highlights, short-form social and vertical cuts without a reshoot. That is the difference between hiring a camera operator and hiring someone who knows what the content is for.
